Ghostly Horizon is a multiplayer game, free to play on Steam from Markus Boberg. The game is an intense 3rd-person spell-caster on spherical worlds. Focus is placed on player’s ability who adjusts the character to a more personal playstyle, numerous spells and cooperation.
With a set of spells and a threat of Evil Ectos, Ghostly Horizon has players having crazy battles with over 30 different spells on a distinctly unique global planet.
There are no any living beings on the planet and when Evil Ectos are invading , the dead have to be compelled to take it upon themselves and rise from their graves as Ghosts to battle the Ectos off. In a cute low-poly stylized setting with unforgiving battles, cooperation is a must, so come together with your fellow beings to ensure world domination!
Ghostly Horizon is based around its spell system to compat. A different spell is mapped to the left and right mouse button, each with its own ability and cooldown. One might fireplace off a projectile shot, whereas another can build a defend barrier.
The game is quite simplistic. The graphics are nice and colourful, rounded, in a cute low-poly style giving a fully spherical environment with quite interesting landscapes. You have a couple of abilities to use against the horde of other ghosts who are against you and each encounter quickly turns into a matter of positioning your force field for maximum effect and getting the most skillful shot to take down your foe.
However, the choice of skills are very limited. You can find new elements in stone circles which can give you some new ” cryptic” abilities under the names of “dark mist,” “liquid soul,” and “death ray.” You can’t tell what these abilities do until they are actually in action. There is not much balance in place either. Some spells can take such an amount of energy, that certain players abuse their way to victory by sticking with their overpowered spell.
The ghostly horizon game is said to feature 5 different game modes providing a decent amount of variety to get you started: Survival (Solo, Co-op), Invasion (Solo, Co-op), Arena (Solo, Co-op, PvP), Battle Royale (Free-For-All PvP) and Conquest (Team Based PvP) .
Ghostly Horizon’s spell setup and unique spherical worlds have potential, but the luck of a dynamic system of movement prevents the game from being a high-flier. Right now, you press forward and you glide until you lift your finger after which you come to a dead stop, and that makes the game quite rough to play for extended period of time.
