Fortnite Season 10
Epic Games has announced that a change will take place with the Fortnite Season 10 that’ll leave some Fortnite players frustrated as the game will no longer support older graphics cards. All players might be required to upgrade their graphics card to one that supports DirectX 11 or higher. The GPUs are currently listed as ‘recommended’ for Fortnite, but will become the new minimum requirement later this year.
The news come from a blog post by Epic today. Without having further details about the subject we assume that if you have a PC and a graphics card older than circa 2009, you won’t be able to play Fortnite after the season 10 launch.
Epic Games states:
“However, when Season 10 begins, Fortnite will no longer be compatible with these older graphics cards. This allows us to focus our development and testing efforts to further optimize the Fortnite experience for all players.”
On the Epic Games website, the company currently lists the minimum Fortnite system requirements as:
– Intel HD 4000 on PC or Intel Iris Pro 5200 on Mac
– Intel Core i3 2.4 GHz
– 4GB RAM
– Windows 7/8/10 64-bit + Mac OSX Sierra (10.12.6+)
– Mac computers must support Metal API
Gamers will need have a PC that meets the recommended system requirements:
– Nvidia GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 equivalent DX11 GPU
– 2GB VRAM
– Intel Core i5 2.8 Ghz
– 8GB RAM
– Windows 7/8/10 64-bit + Mac OSX Sierra (10.13.6+)
Fortnite Season 10 is expected to launch in the middle of July.
